The basis for More or less love songs is composition and dance – and its simple main goal is to mediate atmospheres. True to its name, More or less love songs uses the wildly fluctuating moods of a person in love as its thematic fuel.

More or less love songs is a commissioned work for the 2011 Helsinki Festival, designed for six dancers from the Helsinki Dance Company.

“Risu’s vision for the Helsinki Festival commissioned work strongly combines analytical thought with concrete, physical and dance-filled movement. She is an experienced and multifaceted artist, whose choreographic arc has reached an interesting phase”, says Kenneth Kvarnström, the chairperson of the jury that chose this work and the Head choreographer of Helsinki Dance Company.

More or less love songs is a high quality art work that provides a wide range of emotions for the spectator. Liisa Risu proves her abilities.

This strong, challenging dance work leaves just enough room for thoughts and interpretations. What is love, what are its songs? One might just get a step closer to the answers in the audience.
