Dark by choreographer Liisa Risu was originally created for Zodiak – Center for New Dance, premier Sep 24, 2009. The new version for TADaC dancers builds on the original piece which is thematically based on Samuel Beckett’s short story Ill Seen Ill Said. As the story itself, this dance work is contemplative, rich in darkness, full of associations and open to many interpretations.
TADaC –The Theatre Academy Dance Company – is a dance company within the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki. In the final year of their MA studies dancers collaborate with established choreographers and perform works created especially for them. TADaC was designed to facilitate the transition from training to professional practice and is fulfilling the mission. TADaC continually introduces a fresh generation of new contemporary dancers. Artistic director of the company is Professor Ari Tenhula.
